From April to September, tourists can visit the Kedarnath temple, which is one of the Char Dham stops and is over 1200 years old. At an elevation of 11,657 feet, the Kedarnath Yatra is both a pilgrim's and a trekker's dream. The Kedarnath tour package takes you on a ride through glacial caves, snow-capped Passerby Mountains, lush green lands, and a path cut through the center. The Mandakini River will flow alongside your path like an encouraging fellow traveler as you trek through the Garhwal Mountain ranges.
To even begin the journey, it is said that you must be summoned by Lord Shiva, the deity of Kedarnath. As a result, now will be an excellent time to consider yourself extremely fortunate, as you have been summoned. The road to this lovely place of worship gradually ascends as you pass by other travelers.
As you climb higher, take a look around at the scenery to see what different terrains you'll come across. Green mountains, snow-capped peaks, and barren brownish hills devoid of vegetation will also cross your course. Embark on a mule journey. It normally costs about INR 2500-INR 3000 for the entire journey if the walk becomes difficult after a while, but it could cost more depending on different factors.
You'll come across a glacier with its mouth open wide at you at some point. Try standing in front of the opening; the wind would be cooler than an air-conditioned breeze. Nature's air conditioner! As you get closer to the temple, the snowy mountain ranges will become more visible. As you approach the Keadardome peak on the kedarnath trek, you'll notice a white peak staring at you. Prepare to approach the highlight of your entire kedarnath tour package as the temple sits just below its view.
You come across one of the most breathtaking sights you will ever see, with the mighty snow-covered Keadardome peak standing behind it like a shield. As you walk up the heavenly white steps at the end of the Kedarnath yatra, you'll feel as though you're ascending into the realm of clouds. The magnificent house of Lord Shiva is right in front of you, out in the open. A stairway to this enthralling beauty amid high-rising mountains, with the temple, built deftly on a massive rectangular slab of stone - and that's all there is to it. It's a dream come true for many aspirant travelers to explore it and pay their respects to the mountains and Lord Shiva.
According to legend, the Pandavas went on to create the Kedarnath shrine. The carvings on the exterior walls of the mandir contain references to them. Later on, Adi Shankara built a few more structures around the temple. According to legend, the Pandava brothers sought Lord Shiva in repentance for slaughtering their kin. Shiva hid in Guptkashi because he was unable to forgive their sins. You'll pass through Devprayag and Rudraprayag on your way to Guptkashi, with spectacular views of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers.
Many locals have set up shops to make the journey to Kedarnath as convenient as possible for visitors, so there are plenty of shops and stalls along the way. Throughout the journey, you can enjoy hot Maggi and tea in a variety of locations.
On the way, there are a few medical shops with oxygen supplies if needed. Many people may offer to take you on a mule for the entire Kedarnath tour; you can use this choice only if you are fully exhausted. This is a fee-based service.
The Kedarnath tour package lasts 4 days and 3 nights and includes convenient hotel rooms on a shared basis. The Kedarnath Yatra normally takes place between Haridwar and Haridwar. The first day of the Kedarnath tour begins with an 8- to 9-hour drive to Guptkashi, which we already know is famous for. You can visit the ArdhNarishwar Temple and participate in the prayers when you arrive. For the next day, which will be very eventful, a good night's rest is needed. A big day is coming up.
The second day of the Kedarnath package includes a 30-kilometer drive and a 19-kilometer trek. After a hearty breakfast, it's time to begin our journey to Sonparyag, and then on to Gauri Kund. Today is the day you'll get to see the breathtaking view of Lord Shiva's shrine that you've been dreaming about.
Visit this lovely house of prayer, take part in it, and get lost in its lovely architecture. The temple, which is made up of huge grey stone blocks, is a sight to behold. Listen to the mythological tales about this holiest site and try to link the dots with the Mahabharat epic. As evening falls, make your way to your assigned lodging and rest for the day after a delicious dinner.
The trip from Kedarnath to Chopta via Guptkashi is extended the next morning. Attend the morning aarti at the temple before returning to Guptkashi via the same trek route as the previous day. After passing through Gauri Kund's hot spring, you'll arrive in Guptkashi. The trail is almost identical to the Gauri Kund to Kedarnath trail, but the timing is different. As a result, you'll be descending in a completely different light. After breakfast, you can take a cab ride to Chopta, arriving in the evening. Check into your camps, eat your dinner, and retire for the day because the trek to the world's highest Shiva temple begins the next morning.
On the fourth day of your Kedarnath journey, you will travel to Tungnath via Chopta. Tungnath Mountains, at an elevation of 11,385 feet, form the Mandakini and Alaknanda river valleys. The Tungnath Shiva Temple, literally meaning "Lord of the Peaks," is one of the highest Shiva temples and one of the Panch Kedar, located just below Chandrashila's peak. You can also visit Chandrashila peak if time permits. At such a high altitude, take in the magnificent views of the Great Himalayan peaks. Once you've had your fill of the views, return to Chopta and begin your journey back to Rishikesh. Retire for the day, checking into your shared camp since the next morning marks the end of the Kedarnath Journey.
